Kobil to bankroll Bika

The company was the main sponsors of last year’s edition that ended on Saturday with Lugave and Mmamba taking the football and netball honours respectively.Kobil pumped in over sh4m both in cash and in kind. They have promised to inject in the 28th edition slightly more depending on the Bika Football Committee’s budgetCompany general manager in charge marketing Edwin M. Kunyua made the promise in a press statement Monday.“We are proud to have sponsored the Bika football tournament. The organisers have shown us that they are capable people to deal with. We promise to extend our sponsorship to this year’s edition which starts in November,” said Kunyua.“We are happy to work together with the Kabaka of Buganda and his subjects. We will strengthen our relationship so that each party benefits,” he said.He said that this way Kobil strikes a balance between social responsibility and customer satisfaction under the slogan “Kobil cares for you”“We are happy to be part of the building force for a health mind and body of Buganda and Uganda as a whole.”“Being a community based company, Kobil values giving something back to the community as an appreciation,” said Kinyua.Kobil that started their work in 1999 has over 30 retail outlets.
