Katakwi gets boreholes

A TOTAL of 20 boreholes have been drilled in the camps for internally displaced persons in Katakwi, the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Nicholas Ochakara, has said.

By Vision ReporterA TOTAL of 20 boreholes have been drilled in the camps for internally displaced persons in Katakwi, the Chief Administrative Officer, Mr. Nicholas Ochakara, has said.Ochakara said the boreholes worth sh300m were drilled under a programme funded by the district and the department of water development (DWD). He said the district contributed sh137m while DWD contributed sh163m towards the programme.About 88,000 people are living in the camps after cattle raids by Karimojong warriors forced them out of their homes.
