KAMPALA Kids’ league started their 11th season on Saturday at Aga Khan school with seven friendly games, reports Phillip Corry.The new baseball season sponsored by Stanbic Bank has attracted 255 kids from 30 different schools around Kampala. In the junior tee ball league for six-nine year-olds, Barclays got off to a good start beating Mukwano Tea 16-11. MTN also had a good win over Rwenzori Water 21-13 and Kabira Club in their debut fought hard, but Sheraton Hotel overcame them 22-5.In the Mids’ league for 10-12 year-olds Alam group had a great 16-15 win over Simba Telecom and Little Rascals celebrated their first ever win in the KKL, beating Shell 13-8.In the senior baseball league for 12-14 year-olds, Doom beat Security group 20 runs to 10. While AON Insurance hit 16 runs against Ceres 8. This is the third baseball season on the Kampala Kids League calendar. KKL last year held their sixth season of football, which was their tenth overall.The Shell/Pepsi Toto’s league gets underway tomorrow with Shell Red taking on Shell Yellow at 4.30 while Pepsi tussles with Mirinda at 5.30 at Acorns Pre School, Nakasero.ends
