RDC, soldiers sweep Fort Portal town

By Emmanuel MulondoTHE Kabarole RDC Canon Ben Rullonga joined UPDF soldiers from the 309 brigade last week to sweep Fort portal town.The activity which took over three hours was part of the UPDF “Keep Uganda Clean’ exercise to commemorate the 21st anniversary of the force.Commissioning the exercise, Rullonga said the UPDF went to the bush to clean politics but as the country was getting more peaceful, the force was diversifying by cleaning the environment.He called upon urban dwellers to emulate the UPDF in keeping the environment clean in order to control health hazards. Present were presidential senior mass mobiliser Grace Akiiki Businge and Fort portal Municipality town clerk Dennis Mugarra.Capt. Bob Wasswa, commanding officer in charge of Muhooti barracks, was also present.
