SIR—On January 26, you published an article entitled “The original fighters of the NRA” . It was very educative and I think that was thereaders of your paper got the chance of knowing who the 27 men were.

SIR—On January 26, you published an article entitled “The original fighters of the NRA” . It was very educative and I think that was thereaders of your paper got the chance of knowing who the 27 men were. Unfortunately, there was some misinformation andsurprisingly, at the end of the article it was statedthat it was got from some UPDF officers! Unless theywere mean with the truth. The fighter listed as number 8 Brigadier Fred Bamwesigye or Kamwesiga is not “currently aBrigadier in the UPDF”. He is dead! By the time of hisdeath he had retired from the army. As for the late Lt. Col. Julius Aine, unless a roadaccident is listed as a natural death in the UPDF, he died on the Bushenyi-Mbarara road.Anyhow thanks for educating us on some of our heroes.Joseph AvonKampala
