SIR—On January 21, I travelled by a Kalita bus from Kampala to Fort Portal via Mubende. The journey was scheduled for 11:30 am. As soon as I entered at 10 am, the conductor asked for my fare. I paid sh10,000 and immediately inquired whether my eight-year old daughter would also be required to pay. The conductor said there was a free space reserved for children under 10 years of age on the engine seat. As soon as we took off, the same man came to me asking for sh5000 for my daughter’s fare. I paid and he gave me a receipt but I was not happy with his dishonesty. What annoyed me most was that whenever an extra passenger boarded the bus, the conductor would ask my girl to surrender her seat for the new arrival. I felt so bad that I vowed never to use Kalita bus again. Kalita management should shape up or ship out!Nakyanzi Rita SanyuKampala
