Young man facing bestiality charge

A 26-year old man in Kamuli District was reportedly caught red handed and charged with seeking carnal knowledge of a neighbour’s goat. Particulars of the charge contended that the goat had earlier been taken to a near by bush to graze, when the accused person preyed on it. Alamanzan Mukisa was charged on Wednesday before a grade one Magistrate in Kamuli district Mr Samuel Masaba.Mr Masaba had warned the accused person against entering plea because the offence he was charged with was too grave and could only be tried by the chief Magistrate’s court.Hastening to add that the charge particulars will only be read and explained to the accused person.“For the time being, you are remanded at Kamuli prison, pending transfer of your case to Jinja magisterial area. This court lacks the jurisdiction of trying this case” Mr Masaba explained.The grade one magistrate adjourned the case for mention to January 28. Prosecution adduced that, the accused person committed the offence on January 21 at Kisige village Bugaya sub-county, in Kamuli district.The accused person, court heard, had tied the goat on a tree trunk, before seeking carnal knowledge. The goat belonged to one Festo Igambi who had taken it moments earlier to graze.ends
