By Albert Ayiga Ondoga NEBBI district local government is to construct a juvenile remand home at a cost of over sh100m. This will prevent a situation where children jailed with adults become hard core criminals. The Chief Administrative Officer, Sam Ogenrwoth, told The New Vision recently that the remand home will be constructed at Paidha. He said the idea was conceived after the magistrate in the area raised the issue that adults must not be mixed with children in prisons. He said the district is also to construct a social centre with training facilities at sh300m.Ogenrwoth said most of the projects in the district were successful because of the budget support they get from various institutions like DANIDA, The Royal Netherlands, the World Bank and the central government.“This support is helping us. That is why you can see a lot of transformation in the district these days,” he said.
