Bunyoro-Kitara gets new bishop

ARCHBISHOP Mpalanyi Nkoyooyo has announced that the House of Bishops of the Church of Uganda has named Rev. Canon Kyamanywa Nathan the bishop-elect of the diocese of Bunyoro-Kitara.

By Vision Reporter ARCHBISHOP Mpalanyi Nkoyooyo has announced that the House of Bishops of the Church of Uganda has named Rev. Canon Kyamanywa Nathan the bishop-elect of the diocese of Bunyoro-Kitara. Nkoyooyo also announced that Kyamanywa will be consecrated and enthroned on August 4, 2002 in Hoima.Kyamanywa was confirmed into the Church on December 7, 1967. On December 12, 1972, he committed his life to the lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Saviour.He married Miss Peace Everce Turyatunga on August 24, 1974. They have six children aged between 14 and 25.On January 8, 1984, Kyamanywa was ordained as a Deacon at St. Peters Cathedral in Hoima and on December 9, 1984 he was ordained as a priest. In 1993 bishop Wilson Turumanya of Bunyoro Kitara Diocese installed Kyamanywa as a Canon of St. Peters Cathedral, in Hoima district. Kyamanywa has worked as a lay-leader, a parish priest, diocesan education secretary, diocesan planning officer, acting diocesan secretary and most recently has held the position of principal of the Nile Vocational Institute also in the district.
