JOVIA Saleh, the wife of Lt. Gen. Salim Saleh, was on Wednesday night forced to address Mbarara residents on radio following rumours that her husband had died in a hospital in Germany.

Salim Saleh, was on Wednesday night forced to address Mbarara residents on radio following rumours that her husband had died in a hospital in Germany.Radio stations in Mbarara and other parts of western Uganda had reported that Saleh had died in Germany.Jovia was prompted to address the people on Greater Africa Radio at 11:05pm after over 100 callers from Kasese, Kabale, Kabarole and Mbarara districts rung the radio station to pay tribute to Saleh.“My husband is alive. He is not even sick. Whoever spread that rumour had an ill-intention against my husband,” she said in an address that lasted 45 minutes.Saleh last night told The New Vision on phone from London that he was fine and was taking tea at his hotel. Saleh had an operation on his hand late last year in Germany.
