By Catherine NtabaddeSTERLING International Limited is to construct a round-about at the junction of Katwe and Kafumbe-Mukasa roads. This is part of the on-going reconstruction exercise on Katwe road which started late last year.Sterling International has dumped a heap of soil at the junction which is currently serving as a temporary roundabout until a permanent one is constructed.John Malaka, the foreman at the site, told The New Vision at the weekend that the new round-about would reduce traffic congestion from Katwe road to the Clock Tower.“There is always congestion of cars around Kalitunsi. This is because motorists do not want to follow one direction. The round-about we are to construct will solve the problem,” he said.Kampala City Council got a sh2.3bn grant from the World Bank for the reconstruction of the road. Malaka, however, said that constructing of drainage along the road would take long.
