A night-dancer and a thief got into each other’s way at the home of one Mzee Ngobi of Bukomolo village in Pallisa District. When the two trespassers saw one another, at about 2:00a.m, each of them probably thought that they were about to be apprehended by the owner of the house, which is surrounded by fertile land and banana plantations. Each thought the reason for the other’s stealth was to aid in their capture. Meanwhile, the owner of the house was actually standing outside next to a granary in an attempt to discover who had been throwing faeces on his house during the night (probably the night dancer). Both of them were seen racing for the main gate. The night-dancer, who was behind, probably thought the thief was trying to lock the gate and trap him in, and the thief must have thought the night-dancer to be hot on his heels. The two fought at the gate and each succeeded in preventing the other from escaping. When the woman of the house saw them and raised an alarm, the neighbours rushed to the scene to find two men— one dressed and the other naked— lying on the ground. Both were arrested and taken to the LC1.ends
