I wonder what our MPs are for

SIR— Time and again, I have wondered what our MPs are for. It appears to me they are more for themselves than the people who elected them. They sit in Parliament to discuss their need for free cars, free houses, free taxes and free special mecial treatment. Furthermore, they determine for themselves higher salaries, allowances. They rarely, if at all, talk of the needs of the people they represent.According to The New Vision Apirl 9, they even want to declare their wealth in private. How are we then related if they do not want us the public, the people who elected them, to know how they stand? Do they not trust us any more? Will they then again come to us for votes next time?I feel the MP’s should declared their wealth to the IGG like any other person in Uganda, and the public should know. Otherwise, they are not for us, and we shall not be for them again.O.B MirembaKasese
