Referee stalls Boks-Buffaloes game

Drama ensued at the Uganda Shield rugby game between Boks RFC and Buffaloes RFC when the referee stopped the game, claiming verbal abuse from Buffaloes fans.

But Kyadondo officials dispute this.“It happens at all games, spectators will always heckle a referee, but it has never happened that a game is stopped because of that,” Kyadondo’s Reuben Ambicha said. “Maybe it is a personal thing between Chagga and Ottey, and maybe if it had gone on till the second half, but after only five minutes? A referee should forget about spectators and concentrate on the game.”Ambicha said they will appeal the decision.In other games, Black Pirates second team Sailors beat Saracens, a Kyadondo side, 25-7, and Entebbe Mongers overwhelmed Mulago Rams 48-3. The Nkumba Invaders versus Impis II game was postponed because of the Nkumba graduation.ends
