Referee Jack Chagga stopped the game just after five minutes of play, after he had been heckled by spectators about a decision he had made. According to URFU officials, Chagga claims in his game report that Joseph Ottey, a player with MTN Heathens, a sister club to the Buffaloes, continually abused him, so he had no option but to stop the game and award the game to the Boks, a sister club to 5-time League champions Underwriter Kobs. But Kyadondo officials dispute this. “It happens at all games, spectators will always heckle a referee, but it has never happened that a game is stopped because of that,” Kyadondo’s Reuben Ambicha said. “Maybe it is a personal thing between Chagga and Ottey, and maybe if it had gone on till the second half, but after only five minutes? A referee should forget about spectators and concentrate on the game.” Ambicha said they will appeal the decision. In other games, Black Pirates second team Sailors beat Saracens, a Kyadondo side, 25-7, and Entebbe Mongers overwhelmed Mulago Rams 48-3. The Nkumba Invaders versus Impis II game was postponed because of the Nkumba graduation. ends
