Queen’s Baton Reaches Jinja

THE Queens’ Commonwealth Games baton arrived in Jinja on Thursday and was received by the Busoga Kyabazinga Henry Wako Muloki at the Mayor’s Gardens amid ululations.

The baton was accompanied by the Commonwealth Games Federation President, Michael Senell. Councillors and school children from Njeru in Mukono district earlier received the baton at Nakibizzi on the Jinja-Kampala highway and ran with it to Jinja. Kirimwita and Tuma ran with it across the bridge. It was then passed on to pupils from various primary schools in a relay that ended at the Mayor’s Gardens.Ends
