By Reuben Olita in Nairobi PRESIDENT Daniel Arap Moi has praised UPDF sports team to the first African Military Games in Nairobi for displaying high standard of smartness during the teams’ march-past. Moi was impressed by the UPDF team led by Capt. Moses Kabusenene. They were the 23rd country to march past the Kenyan president at the official opening of the games at Kasarani. Captain Kabusenene was also earlier voted the best sports administrator for the team’s high standard of discipline at the games village. Many teams were accused of indiscipline while Libya boycotted the village in preference for a top hotel in the city. Moi later called for trust, confidence and solidarity among Africa’s armed forces. Meanwhile, UPDF were assured of at least a bronze medal before taking to the field when only three teams entered for the handball event. Football action for UPDF starts today when they face Guinea in a group that also includes Eritrea and hosts Kenya. ends
