Lover makes phone blunder

DANIEL Mugambe a second year student of BA (SS) of Makerere University, caused chaos for his girl-friend, one Angela Namugabi of Ntinda as her father intercepted a phone call meant for her. When Mugambe called and Angela’s father picked up the phone, he mistook him for Angela’s brother Tom.“Oh! Tom, I’m Daniel your brother in-law (as they usually called one another) who has called, so I want to talk to my kyana Angela. If she is near, then call her for me,” he said. The father decided to pretend that he was Tom, his son, by asking him issues concerning their love with Angela and finally called her for him: “Oh yes. Angela is very near. Let me call her. Please stay on the line,” he said as he called her from outside the house.“Angela, Angela, come here fast. Daniel wants to talk to you,” the father said in a tone that made her nervous.“Who Dad? Daniel? I don’t know him. Maybe it’s a misdirected call, but I have no friend called Daniel,” she said. This ignited the father’s anger and he told her forcefully to talk to the caller while he (father) was hearing. Angela refused to pick the call and the father started slapping, kicking and beating her seriously: “Stupid, how can a misdirected call mention your name and that of your brother Tom. Please don’t fool me, talk the truth,” he said.
