THE Inspector General of Government (IGG), Jotham Tumwesigye, has made a shake-up in his office, appointing new directors for various departments and transferring others, reports Yunusu Abbey.

THE Inspector General of Government (IGG), Jotham Tumwesigye, has made a shake-up in his office, appointing new directors for various departments and transferring others, reports Yunusu Abbey.Stephen Kasirye, who has been the director of operations, has been transferred to head the information and internal inspection department.Silver Kangaho, reputed for having handled and investigated several high profile cases, has been named the new director of operations.“Betty Musoke, a former Principal State Attorney in the Justice and Constitutional Affairs ministry, has been confirmed the director legal affairs,” a source said. She had held the post for the last two years.The New Vision has learnt that Susan Bisharira and Muzamil Abon have been confirmed directors of Leadership Code and regional offices respectively.“The appointments were announced on Tuesday and they take immediate effect. We were told more changes would soon be announced,” the source said.“Kasirye has been the operations department boss for the last four years. But his transfer to the information and internal inspection department has surprised many staff who consider it a demotion,” the source added.Reports said under the IGG’s office structure, the director of operations wields a lot of power and supervises all investigations.The appointments committee headed by Tumwesigye is reported to have made the appointments. But Tumwesigye could not be reached for comment at the weekend.Sources said the appointments committee members included Prof. John Muzaale, the chairman Public Service Commission, David Psomgen, the Deputy IGG, and Martin Olobo, the Permanent Secretary in the IGG’s office among others.Ends
