RESPECT them. They may be poor, they may be weak but being humans, they have rights, Veteran politician Tiberio Okeny Atwoma has said. Denis Ojwee in Gulu reports that Okeny made the call recently at a seminar organised by the Foundation for African Development (FAD). He said a government which does not respect the Constitution and human rights should be disowned.“For a government to be democratic, it should have respect for human rights and must have a good Constitution that can lead to development. Therefore, when somebody plays with the rights of the people, that person is the most dangerous one in this country and the world,” Okeny said. The seminar was opened by Wolfgang Hilberer of Konrad-Adeneur Foundation. Ends
