Kenya Coach Fabisch Calls Villa’s Sunguti

By Reuben Olitain NairobiKENYA national soccer team coach, Rainhardt Fabisch has sent an urgent appeal for the release of SC Villa striker Maurice Sunguti to bolster the team for Saturday's friendly against Tanzania in Nairobi.Speaking on arrival from Nigeria where Harambee Stars were beaten 3-0 by World Cup bound Super Eagles at the weekend, the German coach said the absence of Sunguti was the team's undoing in Lagos."The result would have been different if Sunguti and other foreign-based players were in the team," Fabisch said.Sunguti has remained Villa's asset and was the club's top scorer last year in the Nile Special Super League with 23 goals to his credit.Fabisch blamed KFF for the confusion that saw Sunguti fail to link up with the team for Lagos."I hope this message can reach the player through your paper," Fabisch told The New Vision at the Jomo Kenyatta airport.In Nigeria, Super Eagles coach Adegbuye Onigbinde dispelled critics that the match was a waste of time as it had given him a good opportunity to test some new players before the World Cup.Ends
