By James BakamaCOACH Micho Sredojevich’s scheme to dominate Ugandan football has reached unprecedented heights with the Yugoslav engaging a computer to outwit his opponents. The SC Villa coach revealed on Thursday that he has been straining his brains on a computer programme of soccer tactics in search of a winning formula.“It is only on training that I am without a computer,” said Sredojevich, describing the gadget as a priceless data bank.Top on Sredojevich’s mind at the moment is winding up the Nile Special Super league first round unbeaten tomorrow. The Jogoos, who have lost only two points in 13 matches, will be battling in a tricky away encounter against Jackson Mayanja’s URA-Lyantonde.Sredojevich, however, said tomorrow’s match could take more than computer tactics to win. “The Lyantonde pitch is bad. Such settings do not favour good football,” the Yugoslav said.Sredojevich was intentionally contracted in January to end Villa’s ten-year absence from the continental elite. His predecessor Paul Hasule, who led Villa to an unprecedented four consecutive league titles, accepts that Sredojevich is a man of consequence. “There are certain things he is doing professionally,” recently said Hasule.Sredojevich’s innovations at Villa Park include mandatory swimming sessions to boost players’ fitness.Villa in 1991 and 1992 became the first Ugandan club after army side Simba to reach an African final. They reached the Club Championship final in 1991 and the CAF Cup the following year. Villa lost both finals to Tunisia’s Club Africain and Shooting Stars of Nigeria. Since then, the going has been tough. Ends
