OVER sh250m is needed to renovate the dilapidated St. Aloysius College, Nyapea, the headmaster has said, reports Albert Ayiga Ondoga in Nebbi.Mr. Anthony Oryema told The New Vision recently the school needs a facelift and teachers’ accommodation. Oryema said the poor condition of the college had affected the academic performance.He said students have no textbooks for research and no electricity in the library and classrooms.“When I came to the school after a strike, it was in a bad state. The buildings were destroyed and the working relationship between the administration and the students was poor. But now it is improving with the setting up of the students leadership body,” Oryema said.The college is one of the oldest schools in northern Uganda which has produced prominent personalities in the country. Oryema said the money will be raised through fundraising functions organised with the assistance of the old boys of the school. Ends
