By Grace Matsiko A senior wife to rebel chief Joseph Kony, who was captured in Sudan by the army two months ago, has been flown back to Uganda.Lillian Adokorach and her aide, Alice Adongo, yesterday flew in from Khartoum. Adokorach, 25, and her two-month old son Lubangakene, arrived at Entebbe International Airport aboard Kenya Airways at 8:45am, said an official in-charge of the return of former captives of Kony’s Lord’s Resistance Army.Adokorach was captured weeks before she was due to deliver. The UPDF transferred her to Juba for maternity care. “At the time of her (Adokorach) capture, she was in the last stages of her pregnancy, the UPDF handed her to the Sudanese authorities to fly her to Juba where she delivered,†the source said. On Wednesday, Adokorach was first flown to Khartoum on her way to Entebbe.She was received by Saidi Bukenya, a director in the Ministry of Gender and Unicef officials who facilitated her return. The returnees were later flown to Kitgum.“We appeal to the public, especially those in her village, to accept her because she was forced to marry (Kony),†a senior government official said. Adokorach, then 17, was abducted by the Lord’s Resistance Army from Patonga, Kitgum district in 1994. She became one of Kony’s three official wives besides his harem of mistresses.Ends
