Thugs Rob Lorry, Bus

TWO gun-totting gangsters on Thursday morning robbed and commandeered a lorry on the Hoima- Kiboga road before robbing passengers aboard a Kampala-bound bus of money and personal effects, reports Steven Candia.Police Spokesman Asuman Mugenyi yesterday said the thugs who lay in wait armed with two submachine guns robbed a Masindi-bound Fuso lorry at Kikonda, 15km from Hoima town.Mugenyi said the thugs jumped on the road at 7:00am, ordered the lorry driver Mansur Tusime, to stop, pushed him out before speeding off towards Masindi.Hardly a kilometre from the scene of the first robbery, the thugs stopped a Kasamba bus, put the passengers at gunpoint, frisked the crew and grabbed all the money.They robbed the passengers of money and ordered them to load their property onto the lorry. The thugs, however, abandoned the lorry and loot at Bujanga, a few kilometres before Masindi town and made for a nearby swamp when they realised they about to run into a Police roadblock.Ends
