By Maurice OkoreFORMER nurses and midwifes of Medical Services (U) Ltd. face disciplinary action for suing workers MP Dr. Sam Lyomoki.The Uganda Medical Workers Union has threatened to ask the Health Service Commission to discipline the health workers if they proceed with the case.The union wants the nurses to withdraw the case and “apologise to all Ugandan workers for this evil behaviour.”“It is clear that the case is influenced by evil motives of blackmail and intrigue and is aimed at tarnishing Lyomoki’s image,” said Agatha Kulwenza, the union secretary for nurses and midwives in a statement.She said the national committee of the medical workers union met on June 5 and discussed the issue.But the MP, who was the managing director of Medical Services, appeared before the Kampala City Council Court on Thursday and was charged with failure to pay over sh5m in salaries to seven nurses and a cashier.Ends
