By Frederick Kiwanuka in Nakasongola THREE Nakasongola UPDF soldiers and two civilians, including a school deputy headmaster, have been arrested by the police for allegedly waylaying traders and robbing them of sh15m. The soldiers arrested on Thursday include capt. Wandyaka, cpl. Ojara and Lance Cpl. Orombi, all attached to Nakasongola army barracks. Nakasongola DPC Charles Achoroyi said the trio, together with Godfrey Sebisaalu, the headmaster of Kikoiro High School and a fisherman only identified as Sekajje, were suspected to be part of a group that robbed traders on June 14. The DPC said the traders were travelling towards Kampala from Lira when they were ambushed and robbed of sh15m at Kikoiro village, near Nakasongola army barracks. Achoroyi said the traders reported the robbery to Nakasongola police, who subsequently started investigations that led to the arrest of the five suspects. He said a fourth UPDF suspect escaped and was still on the run. Those who were arrested were expected to be taken to court by next week. Ends
