Police Guard School From Irate Villagers

THE Police in Ssembabule were on Wednesday deployed to guard Unique Academy Secondary School in Ntuusi after villagers attempted to attack the students to avenge the death of an assistant referee who was allegedly killed by a school mob.

He was allegedly beaten to death over accusations that he was biased in the match. Several suspects, including the headmaster and students, were arrested.The District Police Commander, Emmanuel Tuhairwe, said after the death of Masembe, villagers ganged up and attacked the school forcing the students to flee in fear. “I deployed there some policemen to guard the school from any further attack. We hope the situation will calm down slowly,” Tuhairwe said. Ends
