By Dennis OjweeTHE chairman of the Acholi Parliamentary Group (APG) Norbert Mao, who is also Gulu Municipality MP has asked the commanders of the Lords Resistance Army (LRA) to communicate directly to the APG about their grievances so that they can take them to Parliament.Mao, together with five other members of the APG were on Sunday addressing Gulu local council officials on the recent LRA incursion. The meeting was held at the Human Rights Focus Library in Gulu. The APG promised to be at the forefront if Joseph Kony’s LRA rebels accept to talk peace.Mao said the rebels should accept to talk peace directly with the Acholi MPs and other district leaders instead of killing civilians or UPDF soldiers and burning down the huts in the camps. The councillors said people were living in camps not because the Acholi wanted to but because the rebels continued to kill, abduct and loot. They also accused UPDF soldiers of raping women who flee the camps to return to the villages.APG members present included Zachary Olum (Nwoya), Jaboc Oulanyah (Omoro), Nyeko Michael Ocula (Kilak), Ronald Reagan Okumu (Aswa) and Santa Okot (Pader Woman MP). District officials present included LC5 boss Lt. Col. Walter Ochora Odoc and district speaker Rev. Willy Olango.Ends
