KAMPALA — The fire brigade quelled 206 fires that broke out in five districts, leaving loses estimated at over 600m in the first five months of 2002. The chief fire officer, Joseph Mugisa, on Thursday said the fire brigade responded to a total of 358 fire incidents. He said 73 of the cases were false alarms. “The losses could be higher but in some of the fires, it was not possible to quantify the losses,” Mugisa said.Ends
