Bank of Uganda invites applications for Uganda Government Treasury Bills Securities to the tune of Shs 2 billion for 91 days, Shs 3 billion for 182 days, Shs 8 billion for 273 days, Shs 14 billion for 364 days maturities from individuals and institutions

Bank of Uganda invites applications for Uganda Government Treasury Bills Securities to the tune of Shs 2 billion for 91 days, Shs 3 billion for 182 days, Shs 8 billion for 273 days, Shs 14 billion for 364 days maturities from individuals and institutions to be submitted to Bank of Uganda Headquarters by 2:00 p.m. and to Jinja, Mbarara, Mbale, Gulu, Fort Portal, Kabale, Masaka and Arua Currency Centers by 12:00 noon on Wednesday July 24, 2002. Following the auction, the securities will be dated Thursday, July 25, 2002. Tenders to purchase securities of Shs 100,000 or multiples thereof up to shs 10,000,000 will be accepted only on a non-competitive basis and will be allotted at the weighted average price of competitive bids. Non-Competitive applications received prior to an auction will be accepted in full. Payment in full, of the amount due in respect of competitive bids must be made to Bank of Uganda, Kampala by 2:00 p.m. and to Jinja, Mbarara, Mbale, Gulu, Fort Portal, Kabale, Masaka and Arua Currency Centers by 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 25, 2002 by cash, cheque or draft or matured Treasury Bills. Payment for non-competitive bids shall be made not later than 12:00 noon on Thursday, July 25, 2002. Individuals and institutions wishing to participate in the auction must be members of the Central Depository system (CDS) dealing services. Intending investors who are not yet members should contact counter 17 in the Bank of Uganda banking hall,Kampala Road, or any of the currency centers mentionned above, for membership information and bid application forms. Completed application forms should be enclosed in sealed envelopes clearly marked 'Application for Treasury Bills' "Competitive" or "Non-Competitive". The envelope should be addressed to teh Director, Financial Markets. If the bid is competitive, the envelope should be deposited in the Tender Box located in the banking hall, Bank of Uganda, Kampala Road, Kampala by 2:00pm on the day of the auction. Non-competitive bids should be handed in at counter 17, Bank of Uganda, Banking Hall by 2:00p.m. on the day of the auction or by 12:00 p.m. at any of the currency centers mentionned above, on the day of the auction. Bank of Uganda reserves the right to increase or reduce the amount offered for auction and accept or reject any or all applications in part or in whole.
