MTN cash in on Heathens

By Mark NamanyaMTN Uganda yesterday handed over a cheque worth sh20m as sponsorship to MTN Heathens Rugby club.The package, consisting of tracksuits, mugs, caps, watches, towels, and bags was handed over by Sponsorship and Promotions Manager Aggrey Kagonyera to team captain Tolbert Onyango at the club’s Kyadondo home ground.The cash consideration of the annual sponsorship is sh12m, sh2m more than last year while the kits are worth sh6m.“We hope this package will put Heathens on top of the league, Uganda Cup and the sevens circuit,” said Kagonyera.He further added that MTN will continue to partner with organized teams.Onyango paid tribute to the tireless efforts of their sponsors whom he said had made their kit better year after year.The communication giants have now sponsored Heathens for four years.Meanwhile, Heathens is intensifying preparations for this weekend’s make or break league tie against bitter rivals Underwriters Kobs at Kampala Rugby club.
