KAMPALA — Two former campaign agents of James Opoka were yesterday charged with treason and remanded in Kigo Prisons. Yusuf Adek, 55, and Alfred Okello, 47, of Gulu Municipality, allegedly helped recruit 4,000 people into the rebel Lord’s Resistance and Peoples’ Redemption armies fighting to overthrow the Government. It was also alleged that Opoka, a former parliamentary candidate for Omoro County, used the suspects’ homes to recruit rebels.Ends
