THE Kampala mayor, John Ssebaana Kizito, has written to Prime Minister Prof. Apollo Nsibambi, asking him to order the allocation of money to renovate Police stations.

By Charles OdongthoTHE Kampala mayor, John Ssebaana Kizito, has written to Prime Minister Prof. Apollo Nsibambi, asking him to order the allocation of money to renovate Police stations.Ssebaana told journalists at the Conference Centre during the opening of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association on Tuesday that he was waiting for a reply.KCC early last month launched an operation to close down ramshackled buildings in the city. Ssebaana said apart from Police stations, government buildings also needed renovation. “I am waiting for his response either in action or a promise because I realised that the Government has problems concerning its budget, which are a priority,” Ssebaana said.He said the clean-up programme meeting has been successful and that people are happy about it. He said owners of buildings in the city centre are very positive about the exercise. Ends
