UPDF Kill Seven Adf Rebels

By John Nzinjah ABOUT seven Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) rebel remnants have been killed in a UPDF ambush on the Beni-Bunia road in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo.A 14-year-old boy, Reuben Muliro, abducted in 1998 by the ADF rebels was also rescued by the UPDF in the incident.“We rescued this boy after killing the rest of the rebels. We ambushed them as they were returning from searching for food,” the commander of the Rwenzori Mountains Alpine Brigade, Lt. Col. Mawa Muhindo, told The new Vision yesterday.Mawa said the incident took place on August 7 at Eringeti between Hoica and Kamanda on the Beni -Bunia road.the rescued boy said he was rescued from a spot called Kitsubu in Beni zone, eastern DR Congo.He said he was with eight rebels from an ADF rebel camp with 19 fighters who he said were commanded by Mashauri.“Now there must be only 11 rebels in that camp because we were eight when we were sent for food,” Muliro said.Muliro also had three bullet wounds in the arm.Ends
