A MAN suspected to be ‘Black’, one of Uganda’s most wanted robber fugitives, has died at Mbuya Military Hospital.

By Geoffrey KamaliA MAN suspected to be ‘Black’, one of Uganda’s most wanted robber fugitives, has died at Mbuya Military Hospital.Patrick Kiwanda, 43, who was arrested on Sunday in Bukesa near Nakulabye, was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday.Col. Elly Kayanja, the commander of Operation Wembley which picked the deceased, said on Thursday he had not received a medical report to ascertain Kiwanda’s death.“Please call the Inspector General of Police. He is the one who speaks on such matters now,” Kayanja said.Kiwanda’s body was on Thursday driven back to his home in Bukesa, where he was picked from.Military sources said Kiwanda had been ill and weak by the time of arrest. They denied he had been beaten or tortured.Kiwanda’s arrest raised debate among city residents on whether he was the sought after ‘Black.’ Some arrested suspects who claimed to be his henchmen, said he was the one while others said he was not.Ends
