LUWEERO district council chairman, Hajji Abdul Nadduli will retire to practice traditional medicine.
Nadduli told traditional healers at a meeting in Mulago recently that his practice was at its height when he treated syphilis-infected combatants during the bush war in Luweero in the 1980s.
He said he used herbal concoctions to cure the soldiers of various ailment before former army doctor Dr. Ronald Batta reached them with modern medicine.
He said since then politics had taken up most of his time and he had not practised the trade for over 10 years.
He said he would soon retire from politics and return to his first love which brought him fame.
Other speakers included state ministers Mike Mukula (health) Oryem Okello (sports) and NDA chairman Dr. William Nganwa. Ends
