MAKERERE University yesterday released the long-awaited private students admission list. Part of it was released on Monday afternoon.

Over 8,662 students have been admitted under the private sponsorship scheme for the academic year 2002-2003.

The deputy Academic Registrar in-charge of under-graduate admissions, Elisha Obela, told The New Vision that students could view the list from the respective schools, faculties and institutes.

He, however, said owing to some computer errors, some students’ names were missing on the admission lists.

“We are working on some errors, we hope to iron out the problem in the shortest time possible and have the complete lists out,” Obela said.

On Monday afternoon, part of the admission lists for science courses were released.

Admission lists for mature-age entrants were not released.

Those admitted are expected to report on September 21.
