HALF centuries from opening batsmen Peter Olivier (51) and Shukula Mukesh (57) propelled the Crocodiles CC to a 28 run victory over the Media CC in a Professional Saturday league thriller at Lugogo oval on Saturday.
The victory confirmed Crocodiles in third position in the league that will have the finals between Engineers and Administrators played on Saturday.
Opening the bating, Olivier and Mukesh combined efforts to demolish MCC opening bowlers, scoring 50 runs in five overs and then 127 in 17 before they opted to retire.
Rajesh Patel added an unbeaten 38 runs with two sixes for the Crocodiles to pile 166 runs in the allotted 22 overs with six wickets at hand.
MCC responded with a hard fighting 138/9 with opener Innocent Ndawula and youngster Duncan Mugabe notching 50 and 31 runs respectively.
“It was another splendid performance from the players and with time we shall hit the mark,” MCC captain David Sseppuuya said after the match.
MCC formed this year aims at getting media persons interact with the cricket fraternity.
