Eight American pastors were among born again Christians who were beaten during a fight with traditional healers in Nyendo Masaka on Monday, reports Eddie Ssejjoba.
The Americans, led by Ludie, reside at Masaka Social Centre from where they join Christians to preach in different areas, .
The Masaka district Police commander (DPC), Steven Kasiima said born-again Christians of the River of Life Church in Nyendo and eight American pastors on Monday attacked a traditional healers’ shrine and destroyed some of his property.
The pastors attacked the shrine of Mukasa Kiggundu Kamulali at Misaali in Nyendo and chased away his clients, but a group of youths from Nyendo repulsed them.
The police in Masaka summoned the pastors including the Americans to question them on the fight that left one of the American women injured. Kasiima said the police quelled the situation and recorded statements from the healers but the pastors refused to turn up.
“We shall wait for our visitors to go home and we evict the healers,” Pastor John Lutaaya said. Ends
