A handful of Uganda Cranes fans got a severe whipping from a motorist who did not appreciate their jumping on his pick-up truck without permission.
The incident happened on the evening of Saturday, September 7, as they were returning from Mandela International Stadium.
Moments after the match had ended, traffic towards Kampala almost came to a halt.
This, coupled with a scarcity of taxis, forced many spectators to walk almost all the way to Kampala.
People took advantage of the snail’s pace just opposite Cornerstone Church to jump onto vehicles that were going to town.
One thing they could not see was the driver in the cabin, since the windows of the pick-up were tinted. They would have continued in peace had they not decided to use the car as a drum as they continued to celebrate the Cranes’ victory.
In a matter of seconds, a mean looking man emerged from the passenger’s seat up front and started lashing the men randomly with a big stick.

Shrieks of maama nfudde filled the air and a crowd gathered. The men scampered off to safety, although one fell by the roadside, injuring his face badly.
The man returned to his vehicle and waded through the traffic. His act left many arguing that he must be a member of Kalangala Action plan. (KAP) once famous for showering pedestrians with canes.
