RICHARD Aciku scored 10 of his 22 points in the last quarter, as Charging Rhino beat Miracle on Sunday to smash the FUBA previous record of 12 straight wins by Falcons.
John Mupiika was also at his best as he added 18 points for Rhino to win their 15th straight game since April.
“You’d have to say that Richard stepped into a massive role again like he does with his ability to defend and make key shots. And he was big tonight,” said a fan at the YMCA.
Chris Ocamringa pulling some ‘Jordannesque’ moves, netted 24 points including four 3-pointers while team-mate Raymond Bukenya added 11points in Miracle’s loss to Rhino.
“Miracle obviously has a lot of heart and a lot of character, but today we showed them what we were made of,” said Sylvan Kaboha, a Rhino player.
In the ladies game, Amazon Rhino avenged its previous loss to Nabisunsa by narrowly beating them 47-46. Safina Nakato hit 10 points while Joselyn Karungi had nine.
Linda Tamale and Mariam Birungi’s 31 points were shot of closing the one point deficit.
Warriors came back after losing to Rhino Saturday with Steven Okia and Benjamin Obura combining to beat Makindye Shooters 59-37.
