THIRTY bales of assorted clothes have been donated to the ministry of gender, labour and social development to be delivered to the displaced persons in Pader, Kitgum and Kotido districts in the northern region.
The minister of Gender, Bakoko Bakoru received the consignment on behalf of the Government at a function held at the ministry’s headquarters at Simbamanyo Building in Kampala on Sunday.
The items, which were donated by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency - Uganda (ADRA-Uganda), were handed over by Booker Ajuoga, the coordinator.
Bakoko said there was need for a combined effort to ensure that peace and development are attained in the north.
She said that was why President Yoweri Museveni had pitched camp in the north.
Bakoko thanked ADRA-Uganda, saying that the gesture was timely, and would greatly benefit the displaced people in Pader, Kitgum and Kotido districts.
