MBARARA district leads south western Uganda in defilement.
Out of 504 girls defiled in the region in the last nine months, 163 are in Mbarara.
Police records released on Thursday by the regional police commander, Edward Ochom, indicated that on average, two girls are defiled daily.
Statistics showed that Bushenyi district follows with 107 cases, Kanungu has 62 cases Ntungamo, 54, Rukungiri, 51, Kabale, 41 and Kisoro 25.
Ochom said it was a common habit to defile chldren on Christmas.
