Youths riot
MASAKA — A group of rowdy youths on Sunday stormed St. Mugagga Naluzaali Farm School in Bukoto East and kidnapped a number of girls. Some of the girls were reportedly beaten up by the rowdy boys. They also destroyed property and forced the students who were dancing at a school leavers’ party to flee.

Clergy irked
KAYUNGA — The chaplain Mt. St. Mary’s Namagunga, Rev. Fr. Eugenia Safaali, has decried the increasing levels of immorality in the country. He was on Sunday speaking at St. Mathias Kalemba S.S, Nazigo in Kayunga at a function during which the school held prayers for the candidates and gave out prizes to students who excelled in exams.

Speaker dies
RAKAI — The LC5 speaker, Badru Ssemanda Bamweyana, is dead. Ssemanda, 45, who has been a councillor and member of the executive since 1989 died from Kito Clinic in Kalisizo town where he had been admitted since Monday. The LC5 Chairman, Vincent Ssemakula, told The New Vision Ssemanda died on Wednesday.
