KAMPALA — Col. Elly Kayanja, who headed Operation Wembley, has completed an advanced military training course in Russia and gone on holiday in the US, security officials said. Kayanja, also the deputy director general of Internal Security Organisation ISO, left Russia, last week for the US on a government-paid-for holiday, a source said on Thursday. Kayanja was invited to Russia by the KGB committee for state security through the foreign affairs ministry with consultations from the Ministry of Defence.
Thugs attack Paul Kafeero
MUKONO — Local pop musician, Paul Kafeero, was attacked by thugs and robbed of sh130,000. The 2:30am incident occurred at Nakitutulu village in Kyampisi sub-county yesterday. The thugs, who wore army uniforms waylaid Kafeero and put barricades on the Kayunga-Nakifuma road. Kafeero who was in the company of two colleagues said he tried to drive through the barricades but his vehicle, Nissan patrol overturned and fell in the ditch. Some of his folk musicians were following him behind in a mini-bus vehicle.
