Lawyer sues WBS TV

KAMPALA — A city lawyer, Patrick Nyakana, is battling it out with WBS in the High Court in a defamation suit he brought against the broadcaster. Nyakana, a lawyer with Mwesigwa Rukutana and Co. Advocates and lecturer at the Law Development Centre, filed the suit on April 17, before Justice Lamech Mukasa. The suit arose from a news story carried on a WBS television on January 18, which said the lawyer, “had been ordered by the High Court in Mbarara to pay sh74m which he misappropriated, to the Centenary Rural Development Bank.”
