LEAGUE champions Falcons centre Henry Malinga (picture right) is MVP for the 2002 MTN basketball league.

Malinga, who played a big role for his team in the playoffs, was crowned at the MTN sponsored Federation of Uganda Basketball Associations (FUBA) awards ceremony presided over by sports state minister Henry Okello Oryem at Makerere University on Sunday.

Malinga replaces Norman ‘Magic’ Blick of Sky Jammers.
Nabisunsa star Mariam Birungi was named women MVP — becoming the first MVP in FUBA history to be picked outside the winning team.

The 17-year-old senior five student is also the youngest MVP ever.

Sadolin Power’s Wilbrod Oketcho and Lady Bucks’ Miriam Hamala were top scorers of the league while Carlos Olaka (Sharing) and Christine Amongi (Lady Bucks) got prizes for being the most disciplined players.

MTN has also acquired jerseys for all teams in the league.
Earlier, Falcons fell to the All-star male team 62-48 while Lady Bucks defeated All Star team 34-28 at Makerere pool court.
