Nabwiso riled

JINJA — Kagoma county MP Dr. Frank Nabwiso has slammed critics of the Busoga Charter, saying they lacked a vision for the development of the region. Nabwiso, who was addressing parents and teachers of Lubani Secondary School on Saturday, said such people needed to be sensitised.

Police hunt
BUSIA — The Police are hunting for assailants who hacked to death the Secretary Buhobe Secondary School in Bulumbi sub-county on Sunday. Bernard Muhumuza, the Police officer in-charge crime, said two people were arrested in connection with the murder of James Wegulo.

Lokeris urges
BUSIA — Sub-counties leaders along the Teso-Karamoja border have been asked to initiate regular peace meetings as a way of ending cross-border cattle rustling. Karamoja affairs minister and Chekwi County MP Peter Lokeris said lack of such meetings slowed the removal of illegal guns in the region.

Woman jailed
JINJA — A woman was last week remanded over charges of kidnapping a five-year-old boy. Harriet Nankabirwa, 35, appeared before Grade One Magistrate Richard Masaba. She allegedly abducted Yusuf Balikoowa from Ibunga East in Budondo sub-county in 1999.
