By Vision Reporter THE Jinja deputy resident district commissioner, Andrew Kameraho, has advised prison officers to practise family planning to avoid self-inflicted poverty. He said large families led to poverty and warned against the culture of marrying more than one wife if the husband was unable to sustain them. Kameraho made the remarks during a send-off party for the south and eastern regional prisons commander, Eric Sentongo, at Timton Hotel on Saturday. He encouraged the officers to work at increasing their incomes and live within their means. “Always prepare for soft-landing on retirement. Make sure you have some assets in place but make sure you create wealth through genuine means to eradicate poverty from your homes,†Kameraho said. He hailed the prisons department for being a disciplined force. Ends
