Archbishop James Odongo of Tororo Catholic Archdiocese has shuffled priests and created a new parish at Kabwangasi.

The parish was carved out of Butebo in Pallisa district. It is to be headed by Fr. Lawrence Ssendegeya who was transferred from Butebo.

The transfers come weeks after Odongo appointed Fr. John Baptist Masayi as second vicar general, with auxiliary bishop Martin Wamika remaining as the first vicar general. For the first time in 50 years, the archdiocese is to have two vicar generals.

According to the diocesan pastoral coordinator, Fr. Stephen Onyeba, those transferred include Fr. Hans Smeets of Namataba, who moves to Budaka parish in Pallisa, Fr. Michael Kibiye, who has been moved to Nyangole Cathedral parish.
